Code of Conduct for Faculty

Proper nurturing of intellectual honesty in students helps enrich their knowledge, morality, values, and ethics. For this, it is essential for both teachers and students to understand that values and morals have a cognitive dimension, and values and attitudes are developed within an affective domain. When a child observes teachers being truthful and honest, he/she naturally imbibes those virtues. Therefore, as educators, teachers are expected to follow the following code of conduct:

1. The conduct, behavior, and practices of teachers while providing any service should always be in the best interest of students and the institution.

2. A teacher should uphold dignity, truth, and devotion to excellence.

3Teachers must nurture democratic principles in their teaching and conduct.

4. A teacher should act as an impartial motivator, disciplined professional, honest guide, and optimistic mentor.

5. A teacher should aim to build the character of students, strengthen their minds, and expand their intellect to help them become self-reliant.

6. A teacher’s knowledge should be unconditional, behavior impartial, actions prudent, approach motivational, and life guided by wisdom.

7. Teachers must align their responsibilities with the standards of legislation, curriculum, and institutional policies.

8. A teacher should demonstrate high commitment to responsibilities, practice tolerance, exhibit compassion without discrimination, and understand students with empathy.

9. A teacher should foster a culture of purposeful collaboration and open dialogue among colleagues.

10. Teachers must respect the professional standards, expertise, and opinions of their colleagues.
